We believe that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as described in the 4 gospel accounts is literal history. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, died in history for our sins and was raised to life for our justification (Romans 4:25). He ascended into heaven where he sits at the right hand of God interceding for those who trust in His name.
We believe that there is one single being of God who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that in the incarnation Jesus was fully God and fully man. We believe that the Holy Spirit is not an "impersonal force" but is the very person of God himself. This God is the creator of all things who is worthy of all glory and affection. God is fully sovereign over all things and is perfect in his nature and character. He is perfectly just, perfectly kind, perfectly faithful, perfectly good and His very nature is love. God is the source of all that is good, right and true in reality.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He is the creator of all things who stepped onto this planet in human history as a flesh and blood human being. Jesus was and is fully man and fully God. God has revealed Himself in creation and in the Old and New testaments, but He has most fully and clearly revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the "Word" of God and the exact expression of God's character and nature.
We believe that salvation comes by God's grace alone through faith alone. Works, self-effort and human energy will not result in earning God's favor or justification. Salvation is given freely as a gift by God through the righteousness that He has provided in Christ Jesus to those who receive it. Salvation has been made available for all men, and anyone who "calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."
We believe that faith without works is dead (James 2:26). A "living faith" in Jesus should results in "living works." One aspect of the gift of salvation, is that God gives his Holy Spirit to those who believe. Good works are not he product of human energy but are the "fruit" of God's Spirit working in us through faith. Anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus must depart from iniquity (2 Timothy 2:19). This is not to say that a genuine believer will not struggle with sin and even utterly fail and fall at times, but we believe that "though the righteous fall seven times, they will raise again." Proverbs 24:16.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God which is inerrant in its revelation of The Word Of God (Jesus Christ). The authors of the scriptures wrote them down as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit and they are profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that Jesus Christ will literally return to this planet to reign as King. He will come to save those who have believed in Him and to destroy those who have rejected Him and refused to love the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10). Jesus will restore the entire creation to its original perfection and intended purpose of glorifying God. He will eliminate sin, death and corruption and His saints will reign with Him on the restored earth. This is the blessed hope for all who believe in Him (Titus 2:13).
We believe that Adam and Eve were righteous when they were created. They disobeyed the word of God and as a result brought sin and death (both physical and spiritual) into the human race. All human beings are born with a sin nature and in desperate need of a savior.
